After the well publicized accident caused by John Ludwig last year, I introduced a bill that would require police officer’s to offer a breathalyzer test to any driver that caused a fatality – something that Ludwig did not take. Currently, it is at the police officer’s discretion.
Unfortunately, this bill was voted down unanimously in sub-committee yesterday. Since all of the members of the sub-committee are lawyers, I wonder if that made a difference.
